O Panneerselvam sent his resignation letter to Vidhyasagar Rao, the Tamil Nadu governor has accepted O Panneerselvam’s decision to quit as chief minister. While accepting the resignation, the governor has asked the council of Ministers as well as the chief minister to function until alternate arrangements are made.

Sources suggested that Rao was disappointed over not being kept in the loop on the developments in Tamil Nadu government. He was in Coimbatore on Sunday when the AIADMK chose Sasikala Natarajan as their legislative party leader. Later in the day, Panneerselvam, for the third time, sent his letter of resignation. The same has been accepted on Monday.
This only speeds up the process of Sasikala taking over as the chief minister. Panneerselvam will continue to function till a new CM is sworn in
